Our financial commitment to our core programmes remained consistent in 2019.

As a founding philanthropic partner of Fashion for Good, C&A Foundation made significant investments early on which drove the foundation’s overall investment increase in 2016 and 2017. In the time Fashion for Good has established itself as a leading innovation platform in the sector, it has welcomed 18 corporate partners to the coalition. This allowed C&A Foundation to reduce our direct investments in Fashion for Good in recent years, while watching the positive social and environmental impacts of the innovations continue to grow.

We know that change happens when we engage locally – with communities in apparel-producing countries, and with the grassroots civil society partners who serve them.

That’s why, in addition to collaboration and collective action initiatives, our partnerships with global reach represented 49% of our active grants in 2019.
